Corporate Development

Corporate Relations Manager:
Assist Corp Dev Chair with Relationship management functions to build new and enhance current relationships with local (DMV) corporations in the healthcare, retail, hospitality and entertainment industries

Partner Onboarding Coordinator:
Facilitate partner onboarding sessions with new and prospective partners. Onboarding will be facilitated virtually. 

Chief Strategist:
Work with the VP of Development and DCBMBAA Corporate Development Chair to craft the engagement and milestones tracker for each corporate partner. Follow the remainder of the engagement lifecycle to ensure all milestones are achieved

Template Developer:
The chapter is in need of a series of living documents to help ensure corporate partnerships are run smoothly, you will work with the corporate development leadership team to craft program guides, thank you letters, and partnership closure documents – to name a few

Partner Documentation Manager:
Responsible for tracking images, documents, contracts, etc. for all corporate partners and ensuring all data is housed in a central repository for easy access at the end of an engagement

University Relations Manager:
Drafts proposals for college partners, manages college visits and calendar of collegiate events, back-up contact for colleges.

Brunch Event Manager:
Manages all brunch activities, manages script.

Silent Auction Manager:
Keeps inventory of all items and tracks proceeds

Presentation and Program Content Manager:
Consolidates information for PowerPoint presentation and program to send to graphic designer/printer

Awards Manager:
Tracking nominations, drafting awardee notices

Workshop Manager:
assists with bi-annual student outreach event

Scholarship Program Manager: 
Manages scholarship program, ensures marketing information is released, aggregates submissions, coordinates review and works with committee to select recipients, coordinates with recipients to attend brunch and receive awards

Business & Economic Development

Financial Literacy Month Coordinator:
Lead, plan and execute Financial Literacy Month; Ensure postings are timely and updated accordingly

Wealth Building Series Assistant:
Work with the WBS Manager to plan and execute the Wealth Building Series Event; Ensure events are posted on Chapter Calendar

Entrepreneurship Program Manager:
Identify member entrepreneurs; Develop informal hang-outs; Ensure monthly communications, develop targeted content; Manage POC list; Develop Statistics; Write and Ensure Entrepreneur Spotlight submission

Small Business Pages:
Works with Entrepreneurship Program Manager to track and consolidate information for entrepreneurs and small businesses; Develops a ‘yellow-pages’ like document with mentioned content and releases updates frequently

Entrepreneurship Expo Coordinator:
Lead, plan and execute Entrepreneurship Expo; Ensure events are posted on Chapter Calendar

Entrepreneurship Expo Content Manager:
Tracks and consolidates information for presentations and program content. Works with graphic designer and printer

Consulting Clinic Manager:
Lead, plan and execute Consulting Clinic program and initiatives; Ensure events are included in Chapter correspondences

Grants Manager:
Track and manage grant requirements; Develop and maintain POC and grant submission lists; Work with Grant Chair to ensure timely grant execution

Professional Development

Career Network Chair
Maintain the chapter’s online resume database and internal job board, CareerNet, which connects the area’s most talented business professionals with the region’s most progressive companies and organizations. Communicate with partners regarding career opportunities. Complete quarterly report of members who have obtained new positions or internships. Work with Professional Development Chair and Membership Chair to inform members’ professional development needs.

Pathways Internship Manager
Work with Chapter partners and local businesses to identify work experience opportunities for students participating in the Pathways to Success program.

Term position: May – July 2018. Est. 2 hours per week.

Government Affairs Chair
Identity, analyze and summarize legislation and policy related to business and economic development, higher education, and personal finance. Lead a team to ensure bi-weekly posts (articles or social media). Participate in monthly Executive Board meetings and other Executive Board activities.

Ongoing through December 2018. Est. 5 hours per week.

Digital Academy Manager
Work with vendor to design and develop content for the NBMBAA-DC digital academy. Serve as POC to build infrastructure.

Term position. May 2018 – Sept 2018. Est. 5 hours per week.

Bylaws Revision Lead
Lead analysis of bylaws and consolidates recommendations to update Chapter bylaws. Must have prior Board experience. Legal background preferred.

Term – May through October 2018. Est. 2 hours per week.

Storytelling Team
Capture stories from highlighting success and impact of NBMBAA-DC. Interview current snd past members. Submit drafts.

Term through Dec. 2018. 10 hours per project.

Social Networking Manager
Plan and attend monthly membership Brunches and Happy Hour events.

Congressional Black Caucus Event Lead
Plan and attend CBC event. Assist with marketing plan. Assign roles to volunteers, including planning and day of site roles.

Annual Holiday Event Lead
Plan and attend End of Year gala. Assist with marketing plan. Manage auction, raffles, etc. Assign roles to volunteers, including planning and day of site roles.

Annual Membership Awards Committee Chair and members
Duties will
primarily include reviewing applications and selecting this year’s award recipients. Chair will help with logistics to secure winner’s bios and order awards.
